For the safety of our community and to minimise fire risk, TreeClimb Kuitpo Forest operates under specific conditions during periods of high fire danger. Kuitpo Forest, and consequently TreeClimb Kuitpo Forest, will be closed to all visitors on days of a declared Total Fire Ban in the Mount Lofty Ranges.
Understanding Total Fire Bans (Mount Lofty Ranges):
Declaration: Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Bans are declared by the Country Fire Service (CFS) after 4 pm on the day before the ban is to take effect.
Late Notice & Safety: We understand this can be late notice, but these declarations are outside of our control, and your safety is always our priority. When a Total Fire Ban is declared, the entire Kuitpo Forest and surrounding park are closed, making it unsafe for us to operate.
How to Check: You can verify current Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Bans by phoning 1800 362 361 or by visiting the CFS website: www.cfs.sa.gov.au/home/. Being aware of a potential closure is your responsibility.
What Happens if Your Booking is Affected:
Notification: If you have a booking at TreeClimb Kuitpo Forest on a day declared as a Total Fire Ban, our team will manually go through affected bookings for the following day to contact you. We will endeavour to reach you by email the night before your scheduled climb. Please check your spam/junk folder if you haven't heard from us.
Automatic Credit: In the event of a closure, your booking will be automatically credited. You will receive contact from us, and you will then be able to book your climb again at a time that suits you.
Party Bookings: If you have a party booking affected by a fire ban, we may be able to move your celebration to another TreeClimb venue, but please wait until you hear from us for details and options.
Don't Make the Drive: Please remember, if a Total Fire Ban is declared, we are unable to open our venue. So, for your convenience and safety, please do not make the drive just in case.
Your safety is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these essential closures.
